Our prestigious TALENT Tamil school was started 24 years ago in 2002 in Ellicott City, Maryland. In the summer of 2003, just seven students attended a summer camp to learn the Tamil language — and it has been growing ever since as a full-fledged Tamil language school. Former students of our school have gone on to become teachers here themselves, a legacy we're deeply proud of.

2002 – Founded

TALENT begins in Ellicott City, Maryland.

2003

First Tamil summer camp — just 7 students, held on alternate Sundays at Columbia, MD libraries (1:15–3:00 PM).

2004 – 2007

Grew from 2 classes (15 students) to 4 classes (45 students) as demand increased.

2010 – 2016

Classes moved to Centennial High School, held every Friday, 7:15–8:45 PM.

2017 – Today

Classes now held at Howard High School. TALENT has grown to about 280 students across 19 classes and 10 academic levels, plus TVA (Tamil Virtual Academy) Intermediate and Advanced levels for students pursuing Maryland's Seal of Biliteracy.
